Why I Wrote Rises
There comes a point when the conversations we have with young women have to grow with them.
They aren’t little girls anymore.
They’re dating. They’re making decisions for themselves. They’re experiencing temptation, heartbreak, pressure, independence, mistakes, responsibility, and questions about their future and their faith.
I didn’t want Rises to speak at young women. I wanted to create the kind of space where we could talk honestly about the things they may already be experiencing, even the uncomfortable things, while continually bringing those conversations back to God.
My prayer is that every young woman who opens this book understands that her mistakes don’t disqualify her, her current circumstances don’t define her, and she doesn’t have to have everything figured out before God can begin working in her life.
There is still grace. There is still purpose. And there is still time to rise.
